  • One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of wheat, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grains. - Luke 6:1


  • At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles. Here are their names: - Luke 6:13


  • When they came down the slopes of the mountain, the disciples stood with Jesus on a large, level area, surrounded by many of his followers and by the crowds. There were people from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from as far north as the seacoasts of Tyre and Sidon. - Luke 6:17


  • Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, "God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is given to you. - Luke 6:20


  • Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, with a great crowd following him. - Luke 7:11


  • The disciples of John the Baptist told John about everything Jesus was doing. So John called for two of his disciples, - Luke 7:18


  • John's two disciples found Jesus and said to him, "John the Baptist sent us to ask, `Are you the Messiah we've been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?' " - Luke 7:20


  • Then he told John's disciples, "Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard--the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor. - Luke 7:22


  • Not long afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby cities and villages to announce the Good News concerning the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, - Luke 8:1


  • Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples. - Luke 8:3


  • His disciples asked him what the story meant. - Luke 8:9


  • One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and started out. - Luke 8:22


  • The disciples woke him up, shouting, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" So Jesus rebuked the wind and the raging waves. The storm stopped and all was calm! - Luke 8:24


  • Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, "Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this deserted place." - Luke 9:12


  • Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God's blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples to give to the people. - Luke 9:16


  • One day as Jesus was alone, praying, he came over to his disciples and asked them, "Who do people say I am?" - Luke 9:18


  • I begged your disciples to cast the spirit out, but they couldn't do it." - Luke 9:40
