  • But he told me, `You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink or eat any forbidden food. For your son will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from the moment of his birth until the day of his death.' " - Judges 13:7

As surely as the LORD lives, not one hair on his head will be touched, for he has been used of God to do a mighty miracle today." So the people rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death. - 1 Samuel 14:45


  • I go after it with a club and take the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. - 1 Samuel 17:35

But I swear to you that I am only a step away from death! I swear it by the LORD and by your own soul!" - 1 Samuel 20:3


  • "But what has he done?" Jonathan demanded. "Why should he be put to death?" - 1 Samuel 20:32


  • David exclaimed, "I knew it! When I saw Doeg there that day, I knew he would tell Saul. Now I have caused the death of all your father's family. - 1 Samuel 22:22


  • So they cut off Saul's head and stripped off his armor. Then they proclaimed the news of Saul's death in their pagan temple and to the people throughout the land of Philistia. - 1 Samuel 31:9


  • After the death of Saul, David returned from his victory over the Amalekites and spent two days in Ziklag. - 2 Samuel 1:1


  • How beloved and gracious were Saul and Jonathan! They were together in life and in death. They were swifter than eagles; they were stronger than lions. - 2 Samuel 1:23


  • So everyone in Judah and Israel knew that David was not responsible for Abner's death. - 2 Samuel 3:37
