(Read Death Part 1 First)

  • "Anyone who strikes father or mother must be put to death. - Exodus 21:15

  • "Anyone who curses father or mother must be put to death. - Exodus 21:17

  • "Now suppose two people quarrel, and one hits the other with a stone or fist, causing injury but not death. - Exodus 21:18

  • But if any harm results, then the offender must be punished according to the injury. If the result is death, the offender must be executed. - Exodus 21:23

  • "If a bull gores a man or woman to death, the bull must be stoned, and its flesh may not be eaten. In such a case, however, the owner will not be held liable. - Exodus 21:28

  • "Keep far away from falsely charging anyone with evil. Never put an innocent or honest person to death. I will not allow anyone guilty of this to go free. - Exodus 23:7

  • Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death. - Exodus 31:15

  • But Joash shouted to the mob, "Why are you defending Baal? Will you argue his case? Whoever pleads his case will be put to death by morning! If Baal truly is a god, let him defend himself and destroy the one who knocked down his altar!" - Judges 6:31

  • If they have a multitude of children, their children will die in war or starve to death. - Job 27:14

  • But Destruction and Death say, `We have heard a rumor of where wisdom can be found.' - Job 28:22

  • And I know that you are sending me to my death--the destination of all who live. - Job 30:23

  • Herod came to the same conclusion and sent him back to us. Nothing this man has done calls for the death penalty. - Luke 23:15

  • For the third time he demanded, "Why? What crime has he committed? I have found no reason to sentence him to death. I will therefore flog him and let him go." - Luke 23:22

  • But the crowd shouted louder and louder for Jesus' death, and their voices prevailed. - Luke 23:23

  • I soon discovered it was something regarding their religious law--certainly nothing worthy of imprisonment or death. - Acts 23:29

  • If I have done something worthy of death, I don't refuse to die. But if I am innocent, neither you nor anyone else has a right to turn me over to these men to kill me. I appeal to Caesar!" - Acts 25:11

  • The people who are destined for prison will be arrested and taken away. Those who are destined for death will be killed. But do not be dismayed, for here is your opportunity to have endurance and faith. - Revelation 13:10
