  • you spoke long ago by the Holy Spirit through our ancestor King David, your servant, saying, `Why did the nations rage? Why did the people waste their time with futile plans?4 - Acts 4:25


  • Years later, when Joshua led the battles against the Gentile nations that God drove out of this land, the Tabernacle was taken with them into their new territory. And it was used there until the time of King David. - Acts 7:45


  • But God removed him from the kingship and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, `David son of Jesse is a man after my own heart, for he will do everything I want him to.'*5 - Acts 13:22


  • "And it is one of King David's descendants, Jesus, who is God's promised Savior of Israel! - Acts 13:23


  • For God had promised to raise him from the dead, never again to die. This is stated in the Scripture that says, `I will give you the sacred blessings I promised to David.'*2 - Acts 13:34


  • Now this is not a reference to David, for after David had served his generation according to the will of God, he died and was buried, and his body decayed. - Acts 13:36


  • `Afterward I will return, and I will restore the fallen kingdom of David. From the ruins I will rebuild it, and I will restore it,5 - Acts 15:16


  • It is the Good News about his Son, Jesus, who came as a man, born into King David's royal family line. - Romans 1:3


  • King David spoke of this, describing the happiness of an undeserving sinner who is declared to be righteous: - Romans 4:6


  • David spoke of this same thing when he said, "Let their bountiful table become a snare, a trap that makes them think all is well. Let their blessings cause them to stumble.5 - Romans 11:9


  • And the prophet Isaiah said, "The heir to David's throne* will come, and he will rule over the Gentiles. They will place their hopes on him."*5 - Romans 15:12


  • Never forget that Jesus Christ was a man born into King David's family and that he was raised from the dead. This is the Good News I preach. - 2 Timothy 2:8


  • So God set another time for entering his place of rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David a long time later in the words already quoted: "Today you must listen to his voice. Don't harden your hearts against him."*5 - Hebrews 4:7


  • Well, how much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. - Hebrews 11:32


  • "Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true. He is the one who has the key of David. He opens doors, and no one can shut them; he shuts doors, and no one can open them. - Revelation 3:7


  • But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, "Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne,* has conquered. He is worthy to open the scroll and break its seven seals."1 - Revelation 5:5


  • "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne.* I am the bright morning star."2 - Revelation 22:16
