  • Immediately after this, he got into a boat with his disciples and crossed over to the region of Dalmanutha. - Mark 8:10


  • So he got back into the boat and left them, and he crossed to the other side of the lake. - Mark 8:13


  • As they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod." - Mark 8:15

  • A man named Simon, who was from Cyrene,* was coming in from the country just then, and they forced him to carry Jesus' cross. (Simon is the father of Alexander and Rufus.)3 - Mark 15:21


  • Then they nailed him to the cross. They gambled for his clothes, throwing dice* to decide who would get them.4 - Mark 15:24


  • A signboard was fastened to the cross above Jesus' head, announcing the charge against him. It read: "The King of the Jews." - Mark 15:26


  • Two criminals were crucified with him, their crosses on either side of his.*5 - Mark 15:27


  • Well then, save yourself and come down from the cross!" - Mark 15:30


  • Let this Messiah, this king of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe him!" Even the two criminals who were being crucified with Jesus ridiculed him. - Mark 15:32


  • Joseph bought a long sheet of linen cloth, and taking Jesus' body down from the cross, he wrapped it in the cloth and laid it in a tomb that had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone in front of the entrance. - Mark 15:46


  • One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and started out. - Luke 8:22


  • And all the people in that region begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, for a great wave of fear swept over them. So Jesus returned to the boat and left, crossing back to the other side of the lake. - Luke 8:37

  • And you cannot be my disciple if you do not carry your own cross and follow me. - Luke 14:27


  • And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. Anyone who wanted to cross over to you from here is stopped at its edge, and no one there can cross over to us.' - Luke 16:26
