(Read Country Part 1 First)

  • Please let us pass through your country. We will be careful not to go through your fields and vineyards. We won't even drink water from your wells. We will stay on the king's road and never leave it until we have crossed the opposite border." - Numbers 20:17

  • The Israelites answered, "We will stay on the main road. If any of our livestock drinks your water, we will pay for it. We only want to pass through your country and nothing else." - Numbers 20:19

  • Because Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through their country, Israel was forced to turn around. - Numbers 20:21

  • The southern portion of your country will extend from the wilderness of Zin, along the edge of Edom. The southern boundary will begin on the east at the Dead Sea.*1 - Numbers 34:3

  • It is time to break camp and move on. Go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all the neighboring regions--the Jordan Valley, the hill country, the western foothills,* the Negev, and the coastal plain. Go to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, and all the way to the great Euphrates River.4 - Deuteronomy 1:7

  • "Then, just as the LORD our God directed us, we left Mount Sinai and traveled through the great and terrifying wilderness, which you yourselves saw, and headed toward the hill country of the Amorites. When we arrived at Kadesh-barnea, - Deuteronomy 1:19

  • "Then you confessed, `We have sinned against the LORD! We will go into the land and fight for it, as the LORD our God has told us.' So your men strapped on their weapons, thinking it would be easy to conquer the hill country. - Deuteronomy 1:41

  • This is what I told you, but you would not listen. Instead, you again rebelled against the LORD's command and arrogantly went into the hill country to fight. - Deuteronomy 1:43

  • `You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn northward. - Deuteronomy 2:3

  • Give these orders to the people: "You will be passing through the country belonging to your relatives the Edomites, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. The Edomites will feel threatened, so be careful. - Deuteronomy 2:4

  • Don't bother them, for I have given them all the hill country around Mount Seir as their property, and I will not give you any of their land. - Deuteronomy 2:5

  • The descendants of Esau at Mount Seir allowed us to go through their country, and so did the Moabites, who live in Ar. Let us pass through until we cross the Jordan into the land the LORD our God has given us.' - Deuteronomy 2:29

  • However, we stayed away from the Ammonites along the Jabbok River and the towns in the hill country--all the places the LORD our God had commanded us to leave alone. - Deuteronomy 2:37

  • "When we took possession of this land, I gave the territory beyond Aroer along the Arnon Gorge, plus half of the hill country of Gilead with its towns, to the tribes of Reuben and Gad. - Deuteronomy 3:12

  • Please let me cross the Jordan to see the wonderful land on the other side, the beautiful hill country and the Lebanon mountains.' - Deuteronomy 3:25

  • "But if the man meets the engaged woman out in the country, and he rapes her, then only the man should die. - Deuteronomy 22:25

  • Since the man raped her out in the country, it must be assumed that she screamed, but there was no one to rescue her. - Deuteronomy 22:27
