(Read Cities Part 1 First)

  • I will send armies against you to carry out these covenant threats. If you flee to your cities, I will send a plague to destroy you there, and you will be conquered by your enemies. - Leviticus 26:25


  • I will make your cities desolate and destroy your places of worship, and I will take no pleasure in your offerings of incense. - Leviticus 26:31


  • I will scatter you among the nations and attack you with my own weapons. Your land will become desolate, and your cities will lie in ruins. - Leviticus 26:33


  • But the people living there are powerful, and their cities and towns are fortified and very large. We also saw the descendants of Anak who are living there! - Numbers 13:28


  • But they responded to Moses, "We simply want to build sheepfolds for our flocks and fortified cities for our wives and children. - Numbers 32:16

  • designate cities of refuge for people to flee to if they have killed someone accidentally. - Numbers 35:11


  • These cities will be places of protection from a dead person's relatives who want to avenge the death. The slayer must not be killed before being tried by the community. - Numbers 35:12


  • Designate six cities of refuge for yourselves, - Numbers 35:13


  • These cities are for the protection of Israelites, resident foreigners, and traveling merchants. Anyone who accidentally kills someone may flee there for safety. - Numbers 35:15


  • These were all fortified cities with high walls and barred gates. We also took many unwalled villages at the same time. - Deuteronomy 3:5


  • We had now conquered all the cities on the plateau, and all Gilead and Bashan as far as the towns of Salecah and Edrei, which were part of Og's kingdom in Bashan. - Deuteronomy 3:10


  • Then Moses set apart three cities of refuge east of the Jordan River, - Deuteronomy 4:41


  • These were the cities: Bezer on the wilderness plateau for the tribe of Reuben; Ramoth in Gilead for the tribe of Gad; Golan in Bashan for the tribe of Manasseh. - Deuteronomy 4:43


  • "The LORD your God will soon bring you into the land he swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is a land filled with large, prosperous cities that you did not build. - Deuteronomy 6:10
