(Read Church Part 1 First)

  • This letter is from Paul, Silas,* and Timothy. It is written to the church in Thessalonica, you who belong to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.1 - 2 Thessalonians 1:1

  • We proudly tell God's other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. - 2 Thessalonians 1:4

  • For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God's church? - 1 Timothy 3:5

  • Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not fall into the Devil's trap and be disgraced. - 1 Timothy 3:7

  • Before they are appointed as deacons, they should be given other responsibilities in the church as a test of their character and ability. If they do well, then they may serve as deacons. - 1 Timothy 3:10

  • so that if I can't come for a while, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and support of the truth. - 1 Timothy 3:15

  • Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. - 1 Timothy 4:13

  • Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecies spoken to you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. - 1 Timothy 4:14

  • The church should care for any widow who has no one else to care for her. - 1 Timothy 5:3

  • Give these instructions to the church so that the widows you support* will not be criticized.2 - 1 Timothy 5:7

  • If a Christian woman has relatives who are widows, she must take care of them and not put the responsibility on the church. Then the church can care for widows who are truly alone. - 1 Timothy 5:16

  • Anyone who sins should be rebuked in front of the whole church so that others will have a proper fear of God. - 1 Timothy 5:20

  • and to our sister Apphia and to Archippus, a fellow soldier of the cross. I am also writing to the church that meets in your house. - Philemon 1:2

  • Dear brothers and sisters,* not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged by God with greater strictness.1 - James 3:1

  • Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. - James 5:14

  • And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share his glory and his honor when he returns. As a fellow elder, this is my appeal to you: - 1 Peter 5:1

  • Your sister church here in Rome* sends you greetings, and so does my son Mark.4 - 1 Peter 5:13
