(Read Church Part 1 First)

  • There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving. - 1 Corinthians 12:5

  • A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. - 1 Corinthians 12:7

  • A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally in the Lord, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church. - 1 Corinthians 14:4

  • I wish you all had the gift of speaking in tongues, but even more I wish you were all able to prophesy. For prophecy is a greater and more useful gift than speaking in tongues, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church can get some good out of it. - 1 Corinthians 14:5

  • Since you are so eager to have spiritual gifts, ask God for those that will be of real help to the whole church. - 1 Corinthians 14:12

  • But in a church meeting I would much rather speak five understandable words that will help others than ten thousand words in an unknown language. - 1 Corinthians 14:19

  • But if no one is present who can interpret, they must be silent in your church meeting and speak in tongues to God privately. - 1 Corinthians 14:28

  • For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the other churches.*1 - 1 Corinthians 14:33

  • Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says. - 1 Corinthians 14:34

  • If they have any questions to ask, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings.*2 - 1 Corinthians 14:35

  • For I am the least of all the apostles, and I am not worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted the church of God. - 1 Corinthians 15:9

  • Now about the money being collected for the Christians in Jerusalem: You should follow the same procedures I gave to the churches in Galatia. - 1 Corinthians 16:1

  • The churches here in the province of Asia* greet you heartily in the Lord, along with Aquila and Priscilla and all the others who gather in their home for church meetings.3 - 1 Corinthians 16:19

  • I am not saying you must do it, even though the other churches are eager to do it. This is one way to prove your love is real. - 2 Corinthians 8:8
