  • But if she has children or grandchildren, their first responsibility is to show godliness at home and repay their parents by taking care of them. This is something that pleases God very much. - 1 Timothy 5:4


  • She must be well respected by everyone because of the good she has done. Has she brought up her children well? Has she been kind to strangers? Has she served other Christians humbly?* Has she helped those who are in trouble? Has she always been ready to do good?4 - 1 Timothy 5:10


  • So I advise these younger widows to marry again, have children, and take care of their own homes. Then the enemy will not be able to say anything against them. - 1 Timothy 5:14


  • An elder must be well thought of for his good life. He must be faithful to his wife,* and his children must be believers who are not wild or rebellious.1 - Titus 1:6


  • These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, - Titus 2:4


  • And it was only right that God--who made everything and for whom everything was made--should bring his many children into glory. Through the suffering of Jesus, God made him a perfect leader, one fit to bring them into their salvation. - Hebrews 2:10


  • He also said, "I will put my trust in him." And in the same context he said, "Here I am--together with the children God has given me."*7 - Hebrews 2:13


  • Because God's children are human beings--made of flesh and blood--Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born in human form. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death. - Hebrews 2:14


  • And so a whole nation came from this one man, Abraham, who was too old to have any children--a nation with so many people that, like the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them. - Hebrews 11:12


  • And have you entirely forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you, his children? He said, "My child, don't ignore it when the Lord disciplines you, and don't be discouraged when he corrects you.2 - Hebrews 12:5


  • For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes those he accepts as his children."*3 - Hebrews 12:6


  • As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who was never disciplined? - Hebrews 12:7


  • If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children after all. - Hebrews 12:8


  • You have come to the assembly of God's firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge of all people. And you have come to the spirits of the redeemed in heaven who have now been made perfect. - Hebrews 12:23


  • In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his choice possession. - James 1:18


  • For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children. It is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. - 1 Peter 1:4


  • Obey God because you are his children. Don't slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn't know any better then. - 1 Peter 1:14
