(Read Children Part 1 First)

  • Then he took the children into his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them. - Mark 10:16

  • This amazed them. But Jesus said again, "Dear children, it is very hard* to get into the Kingdom of God.6 - Mark 10:24

  • And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, - Mark 10:29

  • will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property--with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life. - Mark 10:30

  • "Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies, leaving a wife without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will be the brother's heir.*4 - Mark 12:19

  • Well, there were seven brothers. The oldest of them married and then died without children. - Mark 12:20

  • So the second brother married the widow, but soon he too died and left no children. Then the next brother married her and died without children. - Mark 12:21

  • This continued until all the brothers had married her and died, and still there were no children. Last of all, the woman died, too. - Mark 12:22

  • "Brother will betray brother to death, fathers will betray their own children, and children will rise against their parents and cause them to be killed. - Mark 13:12

  • They had no children because Elizabeth was barren, and now they were both very old. - Luke 1:7

  • He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah, the prophet of old. He will precede the coming of the Lord, preparing the people for his arrival. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will change disobedient minds to accept godly wisdom."*3 - Luke 1:17

  • "How kind the Lord is!" she exclaimed. "He has taken away my disgrace of having no children!" - Luke 1:25

  • For he promised our ancestors--Abraham and his children-- to be merciful to them forever." - Luke 1:55

  • Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God. Don't just say, `We're safe--we're the descendants of Abraham.' That proves nothing. God can change these stones here into children of Abraham. - Luke 3:8

  • "Love your enemies! Do good to them! Lend to them! And don't be concerned that they might not repay. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are wicked. - Luke 6:35

  • They are like a group of children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends, `We played wedding songs, and you weren't happy, so we played funeral songs, but you weren't sad.' - Luke 7:32

  • "You fathers--if your children ask* for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?5 - Luke 11:11
