(Read Cause Part 1 First)

  • Don't eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another Christian to stumble. - Romans 14:21

  • And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people's faith by teaching things that are contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. - Romans 16:17

  • Who is Apollos, and who is Paul, that we should be the cause of such quarrels? Why, we're only servants. Through us God caused you to believe. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. - 1 Corinthians 3:5

  • But you must be careful with this freedom of yours. Do not cause a brother or sister with a weaker conscience to stumble. - 1 Corinthians 8:9

  • For if I cause you pain and make you sad, who is going to make me glad? - 2 Corinthians 2:2

  • I am not overstating it when I say that the man who caused all the trouble hurt your entire church more than he hurt me. - 2 Corinthians 2:5

  • Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to have remorse and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. - 2 Corinthians 7:9

  • For I live in eager expectation and hope that I will never do anything that causes me shame, but that I will always be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past, and that my life will always honor Christ, whether I live or I die. - Philippians 1:20

  • Don't let people waste time in endless speculation over myths and spiritual pedigrees.* For these things only cause arguments; they don't help people live a life of faith in God.*1 - 1 Timothy 1:4

  • These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they don't tell the truth. To them religion is just a way to get rich. - 1 Timothy 6:5

  • And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature. - 2 Peter 1:4

  • Anyone who loves other Christians* is living in the light and does not cause anyone to stumble.3 - 1 John 2:10

  • And you have caused them to become God's Kingdom and his priests. And they will reign* on the earth."3 - Revelation 5:10

  • The nations were angry with you, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants. You will reward your prophets and your holy people, all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. And you will destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth." - Revelation 11:18
