(Read Cause Part 1 First)

  • If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better to enter heaven* with only one hand than to go into the unquenchable fires of hell with two hands.*1 - Mark 9:43

  • If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better to enter heaven with only one foot than to be thrown into hell with two feet.*2 - Mark 9:45

  • And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out. It is better to enter the Kingdom of God half blind than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, - Mark 9:47

  • "Brother will betray brother to death, fathers will betray their own children, and children will rise against their parents and cause them to be killed. - Mark 13:12

  • "The time will come when you will see the sacrilegious object that causes desecration* standing where it should not be"--reader, pay attention! "Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.3 - Mark 13:14

  • This has fulfilled what the Scriptures said: `They hated me without cause.'*1 - John 15:25

  • And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below-- blood and fire and clouds of smoke.5 - Acts 2:19

  • "The name of Jesus has healed this man--and you know how lame he was before. Faith in Jesus' name has caused this healing before your very eyes. - Acts 3:16

  • They found no just cause to execute him, but they asked Pilate to have him killed anyway. - Acts 13:28

  • I am afraid we are in danger of being charged with rioting by the Roman government, since there is no cause for all this commotion. And if Rome demands an explanation, we won't know what to say." - Acts 19:40

  • Authorized by the leading priests, I caused many of the believers in Jerusalem to be sent to prison. And I cast my vote against them when they were condemned to death. - Acts 26:10

  • The Romans tried me and wanted to release me, for they found no cause for the death sentence. - Acts 28:18

  • The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over us, but all who receive God's wonderful, gracious gift of righteousness will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. - Romans 5:17

  • But how can that be? Did the law, which is good, cause my doom? Of course not! Sin used what was good to bring about my condemnation. So we can see how terrible sin really is. It uses God's good commandment for its own evil purposes. - Romans 7:13

  • And we know that God causes everything to work together* for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.1 - Romans 8:28

  • God warned them of this in the Scriptures when he said, "I am placing a stone in Jerusalem* that causes people to stumble, and a rock that makes them fall.* But anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed.*"2 - Romans 9:33

  • David spoke of this same thing when he said, "Let their bountiful table become a snare, a trap that makes them think all is well. Let their blessings cause them to stumble.5 - Romans 11:9
