  • Who can snatch the plunder of war from the hands of a warrior? Who can demand that a tyrant* let his captives go?1 - Isaiah 49:24


  • But the LORD says, "The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children. - Isaiah 49:25


  • The LORD asks, "Did I sell you as slaves to my creditors? Is that why you are not here? Is your mother gone because I divorced her and sent her away? No, you went away as captives because of your sins. And your mother, too, was taken because of your sins. - Isaiah 50:1


  • Soon all you captives will be released! Imprisonment, starvation, and death will not be your fate! - Isaiah 51:14


  • Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Remove the slave bands from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. - Isaiah 52:2


  • Your gates will stay open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession. - Isaiah 60:11

  • And now your allies have all disappeared with a puff of wind. All your friends have been taken away as captives. Surely at last you will see your wickedness and be ashamed. - Jeremiah 22:22


  • And I will bring back Jehoiachin* son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the other captives that were taken to Babylon. I will surely break the yoke that the king of Babylon has put on your necks. I, the LORD, have spoken!"2 - Jeremiah 28:4
