  • So the men of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh left the rest of Israel at Shiloh in the land of Canaan. They started the journey back to their own land of Gilead, the territory that belonged to them according to the LORD's command through Moses. - Joshua 22:9


  • But while they were still in Canaan, before they crossed the Jordan River, Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh built a very large altar near the Jordan River at a place called Geliloth. - Joshua 22:10


  • When the rest of Israel heard they had built the altar at Geliloth west of the Jordan River, in the land of Canaan, - Joshua 22:11


  • Then Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, and the ten high officials left the tribes of Reuben and Gad in Gilead and returned to the land of Canaan to tell the Israelites what had happened. - Joshua 22:32


  • But I took your ancestor Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him into the land of Canaan. I gave him many descendants through his son Isaac. - Joshua 24:3

  • Canaan's oldest son was Sidon, the ancestor of the Sidonians. Canaan was also the ancestor of the Hittites, - 1 Chronicles 1:13


  • Judah had three sons through Bathshua, a Canaanite woman. Their names were Er, Onan, and Shelah. But the oldest son, Er, was a wicked man, so the LORD killed him. - 1 Chronicles 2:3


  • "I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession." - 1 Chronicles 16:18


  • He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. - 1 Chronicles 16:19


  • "I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession." - Psalms 105:11
