(Read Brother Part 1 First)

  • And Jesus replied, "I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, - Mark 10:29

  • will receive now in return, a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property--with persecutions. And in the world to come they will have eternal life. - Mark 10:30

  • "Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies, leaving a wife without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will be the brother's heir.*4 - Mark 12:19

  • Well, there were seven brothers. The oldest of them married and then died without children. - Mark 12:20

  • Once when Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, they couldn't get to him because of the crowds. - Luke 8:19

  • Someone told Jesus, "Your mother and your brothers are outside, and they want to see you." - Luke 8:20

  • Jesus replied, "My mother and my brothers are all those who hear the message of God and obey it." - Luke 8:21

  • Then someone called from the crowd, "Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father's estate with me." - Luke 12:13

  • Then he turned to his host. "When you put on a luncheon or a dinner," he said, "don't invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. For they will repay you by inviting you back. - Luke 14:12

  • "If you want to be my follower you must love me more than* your own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, more than your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.3 - Luke 14:26

  • `Your brother is back,' he was told, `and your father has killed the calf we were fattening and has prepared a great feast. We are celebrating because of his safe return.' - Luke 15:27
