  • Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man's eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, "Can you see anything now?" - Mark 8:23


  • And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out. It is better to enter the Kingdom of God half blind than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, - Mark 9:47


  • And so they reached Jericho. Later, as Jesus and his disciples left town, a great crowd was following. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road as Jesus was going by. - Mark 10:46


  • When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, "Tell him to come here." So they called the blind man. "Cheer up," they said. "Come on, he's calling you!" - Mark 10:49


  • "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked. "Teacher," the blind man said, "I want to see!" - Mark 10:51


  • And Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has healed you." And instantly the blind man could see! Then he followed Jesus down the road.*1 - Mark 10:52


  • Then some of them began to spit at him, and they blindfolded him and hit his face with their fists. "Who hit you that time, you prophet?" they jeered. And even the guards were hitting him as they led him away. - Mark 14:65


  • "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors,6 - Luke 4:18


  • Then Jesus gave the following illustration: "What good is it for one blind person to lead another? The first one will fall into a ditch and pull the other down also. - Luke 6:39


  • At that very time, he cured many people of their various diseases, and he cast out evil spirits and restored sight to the blind. - Luke 7:21


  • Then he told John's disciples, "Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard--the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor. - Luke 7:22


  • Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. - Luke 14:13


  • "The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was angry and said, `Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the city and invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.' - Luke 14:21


  • As they approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. - Luke 18:35


  • As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. - John 9:1


  • "Teacher," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?" - John 9:2


  • "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him. - John 9:3
