  • Esau pleaded, "Not one blessing left for me? O my father, bless me, too!" Then Esau broke down and wept. - Genesis 27:38


  • Esau hated Jacob because he had stolen his blessing, and he said to himself, "My father will soon be dead and gone. Then I will kill Jacob." - Genesis 27:41


  • May God pass on to you and your descendants the blessings he promised to Abraham. May you own this land where we now are foreigners, for God gave it to Abraham." - Genesis 28:4


  • So Jacob blessed the boys that day with this blessing: "The people of Israel will use your names to bless each other. They will say, `May God make you as prosperous as Ephraim and Manasseh.' " In this way, Jacob put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh. - Genesis 48:20
