  • A number of years later, King Belshazzar gave a great feast for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them. - Daniel 5:1


  • While Belshazzar was drinking, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver cups that his predecessor,* Nebuchadnezzar, had taken from the Temple in Jerusalem, so that he and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them.1 - Daniel 5:2


  • But when the queen mother heard what was happening, she hurried to the banquet hall. She said to Belshazzar, "Long live the king! Don't be so pale and afraid about this. - Daniel 5:10
