(Read Balaam Part 1 First)

  • This is the prophecy Balaam delivered: "This is the message of Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of the man whose eyes see clearly, - Numbers 24:15

  • Then Balaam looked over at the people of Amalek and delivered this prophecy: "Amalek was the greatest of nations, but its destiny is destruction!" - Numbers 24:20

  • Balaam concluded his prophecies by saying: "Alas, who can survive when God does this? - Numbers 24:23

  • Then Balaam and Balak returned to their homes. - Numbers 24:25

  • All five of the Midianite kings--Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba--died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. - Numbers 31:8

  • "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. - Numbers 31:16

  • These nations did not welcome you with food and water when you came out of Egypt. Instead, they tried to hire Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram-naharaim* to curse you.1 - Deuteronomy 23:4

  • (But the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam. He turned the intended curse into a blessing because the LORD your God loves you.) - Deuteronomy 23:5

  • The Israelites also killed Balaam the magician, the son of Beor. - Joshua 13:22

  • Then Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, started a war against Israel. He asked Balaam son of Beor to curse you, - Joshua 24:9

  • but I would not listen to him. Instead, I made Balaam bless you, and so I rescued you from Balak. - Joshua 24:10

  • For they had not been friendly to the Israelites when they left Egypt. Instead, they hired Balaam to curse them, though our God turned the curse into a blessing. - Nehemiah 13:2

  • "Don't you remember, my people, how King Balak of Moab tried to have you cursed and how Balaam son of Beor blessed you instead? And remember your journey from Acacia* to Gilgal, when I, the LORD, did everything I could to teach you about my faithfulness."1 - Micah 6:5

  • They have wandered off the right road and followed the way of Balaam son of Beor,* who loved to earn money by doing wrong.4 - 2 Peter 2:15

  • But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. - 2 Peter 2:16

  • How terrible it will be for them! For they follow the evil example of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they will do anything for money. And like Korah, they will perish because of their rebellion. - 2 John 1:11

  • And yet I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you who are like Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to worship idols by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin. - Revelation 2:14
