  • The clan of Gershon received thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan. - Joshua 21:6

  • He even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made an obscene Asherah pole. He cut down the pole and burned it in the Kidron Valley. - 1 Kings 15:13


  • Then he set up an Asherah pole. He did more to arouse the anger of the LORD, the God of Israel, than any of the other kings of Israel before him. - 1 Kings 16:33


  • Now bring all the people of Israel to Mount Carmel, with all 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah, who are supported by Jezebel." - 1 Kings 18:19


  • But they continued to sin, following the evil example of Jeroboam. They even set up an Asherah pole in Samaria. - 2 Kings 13:6


  • They set up sacred pillars and Asherah poles at the top of every hill and under every green tree. - 2 Kings 17:10


  • They defied all the commands of the LORD their God and made two calves from metal. They set up an Asherah pole and worshiped Baal and all the forces of heaven. - 2 Kings 17:16


  • He removed the pagan shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, and knocked down the Asherah poles. He broke up the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because the people of Israel had begun to worship it by burning incense to it. The bronze serpent was called Nehushtan.*2 - 2 Kings 18:4


  • He rebuilt the pagan shrines his father, Hezekiah, had destroyed. He constructed altars for Baal and set up an Asherah pole, just as King Ahab of Israel had done. He also bowed before all the forces of heaven and worshiped them. - 2 Kings 21:3
