(Read Arrest Part 1 First)

  • Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. - Mark 14:46

  • Jesus asked them, "Am I some dangerous criminal, that you come armed with swords and clubs to arrest me? - Mark 14:48

  • Why didn't you arrest me in the Temple? I was there teaching every day. But these things are happening to fulfill what the Scriptures say about me." - Mark 14:49

  • (For he realized by now that the leading priests had arrested Jesus out of envy.) - Mark 15:10

  • When the teachers of religious law and the leading priests heard this story, they wanted to arrest Jesus immediately because they realized he was pointing at them--that they were the farmers in the story. But they were afraid there would be a riot if they arrested him. - Luke 20:19

  • Watching for their opportunity, the leaders sent secret agents pretending to be honest men. They tried to get Jesus to say something that could be reported to the Roman governor so he would arrest Jesus. - Luke 20:20

  • So he began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus so they could arrest him quietly when the crowds weren't around. - Luke 22:6

  • But our leading priests and other religious leaders arrested him and handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him. - Luke 24:20

  • Then the leaders tried to arrest him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come. - John 7:30

  • When the Pharisees heard that the crowds were murmuring such things, they and the leading priests sent Temple guards to arrest Jesus. - John 7:32

  • And some wanted him arrested, but no one touched him. - John 7:44

  • The Temple guards who had been sent to arrest him returned to the leading priests and Pharisees. "Why didn't you bring him in?" they demanded. - John 7:45

  • Jesus made these statements while he was teaching in the section of the Temple known as the Treasury. But he was not arrested, because his time had not yet come. - John 8:20

  • Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them. - John 10:39

  • Meanwhile, the leading priests and Pharisees had publicly announced that anyone seeing Jesus must report him immediately so they could arrest him. - John 11:57

  • So the soldiers, their commanding officer, and the Temple guards arrested Jesus and tied him up. - John 18:12

  • Then Jesus answered, "I am not an earthly king. If I were, my followers would have fought when I was arrested by the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world." - John 18:36
