  • On the seventh day, having finished his task, God rested from all his work. - Genesis 2:2


  • And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from his work of creation. - Genesis 2:3


  • The LORD replied, "They will not kill you, for I will give seven times your punishment to anyone who does." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain to warn anyone who might try to kill him. - Genesis 4:15

  • But when Jacob woke up in the morning--it was Leah! "What sort of trick is this?" Jacob raged at Laban. "I worked seven years for Rachel. What do you mean by this trickery?" - Genesis 29:25


  • "Wait until the bridal week is over, and you can have Rachel, too--that is, if you promise to work another seven years for me." - Genesis 29:27


  • So Jacob agreed to work seven more years. A week after Jacob had married Leah, Laban gave him Rachel, too. - Genesis 29:28


  • So Jacob slept with Rachel, too, and he loved her more than Leah. He then stayed and worked the additional seven years. - Genesis 29:30
