- Moses commanded Joshua, "Call the Israelites to arms, and fight the army of Amalek. Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand." - Exodus 17:9
- So Joshua did what Moses had commanded. He led his men out to fight the army of Amalek. Meanwhile Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of a nearby hill. - Exodus 17:10
- As a result, Joshua and his troops were able to crush the army of Amalek. - Exodus 17:13
- Then the LORD instructed Moses, "Write this down as a permanent record, and announce it to Joshua: I will blot out every trace of Amalek from under heaven." - Exodus 17:14
- So Moses and his assistant Joshua climbed up the mountain of God. - Exodus 24:13
- When Joshua heard the noise of the people shouting below them, he exclaimed to Moses, "It sounds as if there is a war in the camp!" - Exodus 32:17
- Inside the Tent of Meeting, the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, stayed behind in the Tent of Meeting. - Exodus 33:11
- Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' personal assistant since his youth, protested, "Moses, my master, make them stop!" - Numbers 11:28
- These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. By this time Moses had changed Hoshea's name to Joshua.*1 - Numbers 13:16
- Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing. - Numbers 14:6
- But the whole community began to talk about stoning Joshua and Caleb. Then the glorious presence of the LORD appeared to all the Israelites from above the Tabernacle.*1 - Numbers 14:10
- will enter the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. - Numbers 14:30
