(Read Euphrates Part 1 First)
"Take the linen belt you are wearing, and go to the Euphrates River.* Hide it there in a hole in the rocks."1 - Jeremiah 13:4
So I went and hid it at the Euphrates as the LORD had instructed me. - Jeremiah 13:5
A long time afterward, the LORD said to me, "Go back to the Euphrates and get the linen belt that I told you to hide there." - Jeremiah 13:6
So I went to the Euphrates and dug it out of the hole where I had hidden it. But now it was mildewed and falling apart. The belt was useless. - Jeremiah 13:7
This message concerning Egypt was given in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah,* the king of Judah, on the occasion of the battle of Carchemish when Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, and his army were defeated beside the Euphrates River by King Nebuchadnezzar* of Babylon.1 - Jeremiah 46:2
The swiftest cannot flee; the mightiest warriors cannot escape. By the Euphrates River to the north they stumble and fall. - Jeremiah 46:6
For this is the day of the Lord, the LORD Almighty, a day of vengeance on his enemies. The sword will devour until it is satisfied, yes, drunk with your blood! The Lord, the LORD Almighty, will receive a sacrifice today in the north country beside the Euphrates River. - Jeremiah 46:10
Then, when you have finished reading the scroll, tie it to a stone, and throw it into the Euphrates River. - Jeremiah 51:63
