Share Jesus Without Fear: The Stories of Our Lives
Even if you can share Jesus without fear, you need to be prepared. Society teaches that if something sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. This belief alone will prevent many people from accepting the Gospel message the first time they hear it. Research shows that, on average, adults must hear the Gospel message about seven times before they come to faith in Christ. So, don't give up on your friend, but prayerfully continue to look for opportunities to share your faith.

Sharing your personal testimony is often an effective response to objections. Seekers usually aren't looking for logical answers to appease their doubts. What they really want to know is if Christianity really works. Your personal testimony is the best way to illustrate that a relationship with God is a life-changing experience. You can be prepared to share by writing down your personal testimony. This will help you to organize your thoughts so that we can present them clearly and concisely at any time.

Of course, there are those who will persist in getting answers to certain questions. We should be prepared to give them a reason for our faith in Jesus. 1 Peter 3:15 says, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." We should never try to coerce people into placing their faith in Jesus. Our goal is to inform rather than convince.

It is impossible to learn an answer for every question that people ask about Christianity, but we can easily prepare ourselves for the most common ones. There are four main objections that seekers usually raise. They are listed below with a link to more information about how you can respond.

I don't believe the Bible. It's just a book of myths.
Faith is irrational.
Evolution disproves God.
If God is good and all-powerful, then why do bad things happen?

The reason we share our faith in Jesus Christ is to lead people into a relationship with God. After guiding your friend through the salvation verses, ask if he would like to live his life for Christ. If he says "yes" then lead him in a prayer of confession so that he may verbally profess his new-found faith in Jesus. You may want to share several verses regarding assurance. For example, Romans 10:13, "…Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
