Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Prayer: What an awesome God we serve!  This morning the truth of that praise overwhelms my spirit.  There is an empowerment that You wait to give all of us that will take us to a brand new level of commitment and service.  This is exciting, and at the same time somewhat convicting.  Deep inside each one of us You allow us the privilege of hearing from Your Holy Spirit.  You give us great power to do the impossible.  This is not a fairy tale or a vague wish to have a better more productive life.  It is a clear promise from You that we can attempt much when we surrender to Your Leadership and walk closely with Your Holy Spirit.

Thank You that today You are showing me there is no need to fear - You made ALL of Your children to do the impossible. It is only our own lack of faith that stops us dead in our tracks.  I bow before You today asking that each person who prays this prayer will be given an empowerment to walk in the purpose You created them for and to be aware at the deep level of their spirit that they can and should be seeking to do “what no man can do”.

How You must love Your children.  You always seem to be challenging us to become better, brighter - shining lights that reflect the heart and mind of Christ.  You tell us that those who believe in You will do the work that You do.  Belief and faith seem to be the key.  It is because I believe so strongly that You walk my path with me every day, guiding and directing me, that I am also beginning to realize that this is also a call to action.

I ask You Lord to show all those who pray this prayer that You are indeed saving Your best for the last.  Show them how important faith truly is and that they need to look no further than the example of Jesus Christ Himself.  It is the very nature of Christ, coupled with the power of the Holy Spirit that will grow each one of us into the warriors we are called to be.  I acknowledge You today as the all-powerful God and that You desire to release Your Power to Your people so they can do the impossible.  Your example clearly shows us that You did everything in love - and so must we.

Allow all of us to realize that we don’t need to have a lot to accomplish Your purposes.  You always use the foolish of this world to confound the proud, and Your glory is shown when the weakest of us somehow accomplish that which was beyond our own human ability to produce.  Protect us all from lukewarm attitudes that really cause us to trust only ourselves instead of You.

Thank You that You are an all-consuming fire and that You grow us to be a forest fire for You.  Renew the passion that lies dormant in Your children and help us to truly trust in You and Your Holy Spirit to take us to the next level of faith as we grow closer, bolder and more surrendered to Your will.  Then I pray You will receive ALL the glory and the walls of deceit will be torn down and Your truth revealed.

Reflect: Ask God to reveal His greatness and power to You so that You will not be tempted to think God will use you because of Your own abilities.  Reflect on God’s Word (1 Corinthians 1: 26 - 29) that shows that He uses our weaknesses rather than our strengths.
