Finding answers to Bible questions can sometimes be difficult, but the people at GotQuestions.org are there to help you! The books of the Bible were written over a period of approximately 1,500 years, and were completed around 1,900 years ago. The Bible was written in an entirely different era and culture than what we live in today. The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Although we have excellent translations of the Bible today, a translation can never perfectly convey the meaning of the original language. These factors, and others, can combine to make understanding all the nuances of the Bible a challenge. God is not offended when we have questions about the Bible. God wants us to find the answers in the Bible even more than we want to find them ourselves.

God wants us to find the answers to our Bible questions. He wants us to understand the Bible. The Holy Spirit, who lives inside of all Christians, promises to help us in understanding God's Word. John 14:26 declares, "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." Remember, God is the ultimate author of the Bible - and the best way to understand a book is to ask the author. God promises to give wisdom to anyone who asks. James 1:5 proclaims, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

The answers to Bible questions are out there! Even though we have everything we need to understand the Bible for ourselves, it's foolish to ignore the research and teaching of other godly Christian men and women. God has equipped certain individuals with a gifting for teaching God's Word in a manner that is accurate and easy to understand (Romans 12:6-7; Ephesians 4:11-13).
