Orphanage Outreach

Orphanage Outreach - Cries Echoing Across Time
Orphanage outreach should be at the heart of Christianity. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress" (James 1:27).

The need for rescuing orphans is enormous around the world. Thousands of children across the nations await shelter, nutrition, education, health care, a relationship with their God, and a well-grounded spiritual foundation for their future. "God calls orphans 'the fatherless,' whose cries are echoing across time, waiting for the ears of the church to hear" (Fields of the Fatherless by C. Thomas Davis). It's time for us to listen!

  • "In you the fatherless find mercy." (Hosea 14:3)
  • "You are the helpers of the fatherless." (Psalm 10:14)

Orphanage Outreach - A Calling for All Believers
When it comes to orphanage outreach, we find ourselves in a place of silence and solitude. Today we stand face to face with those whose cries are lost in time. Day after day we see them grieve. So many times we've heard them call our name, yet we turned away. We missed seeing the beauty in their hearts and the spark in their eyes that shout for the passion burning within. How much longer will they hurt? How many of them will lose their lives, so young and so tragically?

God is looking for those who will answer this clarion call. He seeks those who, in unconditional love, will help these children carry on. God is waiting for people who willingly respond to the cry of those who are in need. Those who can't pay back, and have already given all. Those whose hearts are broken, whose souls are torn. The poor, the lonely, the fatherless.

Today, let us stand together to honor this calling. Today, we say that we will extend a helping hand to those in need. We hold in our hands the opportunity of rescuing the very lives of many of God's most precious children. As believers, this should be one of our primary missions, to give these children a second chance, a new beginning at the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Orphanage Outreach - A Ministry in the Trenches
Our friends at WorldOrphans.com have a true heart for orphanage outreach! They have been able to reach the children in some of the poorest countries of the world by funding the construction of 158 church-based orphan homes (as of September 2003). These orphanages provide the children much love, shelter, food, an education, and most importantly -- a solid Christian foundation. They have their eyes set on the goal and they will keep on running the race set before them until every child is safe, every need is met, every dream is fulfilled and until the heart of every child cries with burning zeal for the work of the Cross.

  • "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (Luke 18:16)
  • "Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." (Matthew 18:5)
  • "It is not the will of your Father that one of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18:14)

Orphanage Outreach - Share in the Blessing
Fellow believers, let's stand together in orphanage outreach! Let's lend a helping hand to the children of the world! Some of us will walk through our lives without ever having known the power of a smile on the faces of these little ones. Come share with us the reward of knowing that God lives in the hearts of these children because we have decided to love them. Together, let's share the blessing of people's faithfulness to the children and to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." (Matthew 25:35)
  • "And Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them." (Mark 10:16)

WHAT DO YOU THINK? - We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.
