Inspirational Bible Verses

Inspirational Bible Verses – The Word of God
Inspirational Bible verses are found throughout the Bible! God’s Word was written to inspire us toward righteousness and equip us to deal with life’s trials. Additionally, inspiring Scriptures offer the way to deepen our faith and strengthen our relationship with the Lord. Everyone needs motivation, stimulation, and encouragement, so appropriately, the Bible is sometimes referred to as the “blueprint for life.” Psalm 119:105 says “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

We often believe that no one else could possibly know what we are going through, but God always knows because He is the omniscient and omnipresent God. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). This means if we are committed to and trust in God with a faithful heart, He will help us through the struggles and obstacles in our paths.

Often people search for inspiration, hope, and insight from family, friends, the workplace, or a number of other sources. Though others can offer words of encouragement, their words will fail to sustain our deepest needs. The Holy Scriptures provide God’s words, ways, and will for our lives. He knows what is in our hearts, what dilemmas we are facing, and through His infinite love, He will guide us with perfection every time. The Scriptures are filled with comfort, solutions, and illustrations to face every situation in life.

Inspirational Bible Verses – Specific Needs
In the tumultuous world we now live in, inspirational Bible verses give us definitive encouragement, provide hope, supply supernatural peace1 and an eternal promise. The greatest inspiration comes from knowing that God gave His Son, Jesus, to atone for our sins.2. His sacrifice on the cross is payment for our wrongs. When we accept it with sincerity and simple faith, we can inherit entry into the Kingdom of God.

The inspiration to become more righteous is found in numerous Scriptures. God is our Heavenly Father and wants us to succeed in the life He has planned for us. The Lord knows we have many needs, temptations, and that we face a diversity of difficult situations. Therefore, He provides His Holy Spirit as the Comforter who is available no matter how dire our circumstances.3 Through the Spirit we find inspiration for dealing with all aspects of life such as:
    Depression –
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength” (Ephesians 1:17-19).

    Bereavement or grief –
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).

    Suffering –
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4)

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12).

    Substance Abuse –
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

    Finances –
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19-20).

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5-6).

    Fear –
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-30).

    Salvation –
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

It is through these inspirational Bible verses that we see the love of God and His grace at work. The Holy Spirit comforts and corrects as well as gives us guidance in all decisions. God, with His tremendous love, wants us to come to Him even in the most impossible of circumstances. Psalm 50:15 says “...Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” By God’s sovereignty, He is glorified and proves that “…With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).

Inspirational Bible Verses – Essentially Equipped
To benefit the most from inspirational Bible verses, you may want to be equipped with some vital tools.
  • The first is to have faith and trust in the Lord. “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7). In the Bible, the Lord is called Counselor, Friend, Savior, Intercessor, and Master. He is able to be all things to us.
  • The second is to have an open, receiving heart. To quote one source, “Never has there been such confidence, excitement, and freedom as when the Word of God is used...Scripture is always sufficient for any area of life. Every problem, every need, every hurt or desire can be met by Scripture.”4
  • Check your relationship with Christ. It is essential to grow in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Without that, you will lack the truth, power, and authority of God to combat the enemy Satan and his attacks in your life.
  • The next is application of God’s Word. Words can be very uplifting and instrumental, but unless they are implemented in your daily walk, words do you no good. You may ask for restoration of the body or mind, and guidance for living righteously, but it will not be beneficial if you do not apply what is given you.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? - We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, today I am deciding to follow Jesus
